Tech Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 It appears that Apple dropped support for certain formats of legacy bitmap graphics in OS X 10.13 High Sierra. form•Z 6 uses this format for some of its palette graphics. To fix this you will need to replace the resource file in your current installation with a new one that contains updated graphics that are supported by OS X 10.13. Please follow these Steps: • Be sure that you have form•Z 6.7.3 installed. This fix will only work for form•Z 6.7.3. If you don't have it, you can download it here: http://www.formz.com/products/formz/update/formz_6_Upgrade_Professional.html• Download "formZ_RenderZone_Plus.rsrc.zip" below if you have a form•Z RenderZone Plus installation or "formZ.rsrc.zip" if you have a regular form•Z installation. If necessary, extract the zip file. You should now have a file named “formZ RenderZone Plus.rsrc” or "formZ.rsrc".• Locate your formZ 6.7.3 Application folder (Usually in Applications/formZ/)• Right-click on the "formZ RenderZone Plus" or "formZ" application icon and select "Show Package Contents" from the menu.• Open the "Contents" Folder.• Open the "Resources" Folder.• Replace resource file in the "Resources" Folder with the one that you downloaded.• Launch form•Z 6.7.3! formZ_RenderZone_Plus.rsrc.zip formZ.rsrc.zip graham_g, ThatMNTishman and Kamorkaset 3 Quote
setz Posted January 16, 2018 Posted January 16, 2018 Thank you for keeping V6 alive. It is still, even after all these years, a very useful tool. ThatMNTishman, graham_g and Des 3 Quote
AHDD Designer Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Great! Thank you. Version 6.7.3 is still a stable and useful tool – especially the drafting part! ThatMNTishman and graham_g 2 Quote
rich f Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Thanks for the fix, I saw this bug and figured it would be the end of 6.7.... Can I request one other fix? Ever since 10.10, the standard pick icon - "+" crosshair - won't change with the background color. I generally work with a dark background, which is tough when the cursor is black. It should switch to white when the background is dark. Not sure if that is a simple resource/icon fix, or a deeper OS thing.... Quote
jsiggia Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Z, I'd like to reinstall V6 but the link above provides access back to V7, "Click Here for updates for versions 6 or earlier." doesn't seem to have a download link, just update instructions. Did I miss it? Thanks, Joe Quote
jsiggia Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 Never mind Z, I found my 6.6 install disc. Thanks, Joe Quote
jsiggia Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 Here is the link to V6. http://www.formz.com...d_previous.html My install disc wouldn't run on my machine. Hope this helps someone. Joe Quote
Tech Posted March 19, 2018 Author Posted March 19, 2018 Thanks jsiggia! We have corrected the link in the original post. Its possible that the DVD is damaged or the installer on the DVD is no longer compatible with the OS you have. Quote
ThatMNTishman Posted March 26, 2018 Posted March 26, 2018 It worked. I had to go to WIBU's website to find the latest runtime for the key, but I was able to export a 8.6 to a 6.7.3 file and render it perfectly. Now I can access some legacy work and also send some creative work to one of my colleagues. This is invaluable and I appreciate ADS for doing it. jsiggia 1 Quote
9192 Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Does this method also work with Mac OS Mojave? with the new six core Mac Mini, I am think of upgrade my hardware for using with 6.7, because some of people I work with still using 6.7. My IMac 2010 is too tired and slow for Renderzone. thanks, Quote
rialle Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I cannot access the link for "formZ 6.7.3 "Hot Fix" for OS X 10.13 High Sierra" to download . . . formZ_RenderZone_Plus.rsrc.zip - Is it still available? Quote
TwoSheaStl Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 So does FZ 6.7.3 still work on the newest Mac operating system? Quote
R2D2 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Bump - what is the latest OS X that can run 6.7.3 and WIBU ? Quote
Des Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Not sure, but I think El Capitan. I screen grabbed this just now on one of my older machines... I can't upgrade to any newer OS on that machine so can't be sure. Quote
Des Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Actually, scrap my last post. It's obviously able to run on newer OS's than El Capitan (10.11) seeing that the thread is titled for a hot fix for High Sierra (10.13) 🙄 Quote
ZTEK Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 I remember that I used it with High Sierra without any problem, but I can't verify because later I installed Catalina on my MacBook Pro, and I don't have it anymore. Quote
R2D2 Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 Can 6.7.3 run w OSX Mojave ? I get an error saying the wibu key is not recognized when starting FZ… or the installer. The wibu-key is recognized by OSX however (i.e in terminal). (The wibu driver is installed, but it does not use a kext anymore) Is there a known issue with this after high-sierra ? Quote
