Smarttec Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 So I see on my simple Mac Mini i7 2.3Ghz - 4 cores is my performance. But if I replaced it with a new computer with Xeon's and about 24 cores I can expect it to be about 10 x better. I also noted that if I added an external nVidia GTX1080Ti and render using it performance could be up to 10x better? Rob
Smarttec Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 The Mac Mini i7 -2.3Ghz was about 140th on the speed rating chart...

Andrew West Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 On my computer having 32 cores @2.6 ghz is faster than my GTX 1080. Looking at Justin's setup it appears that having fewer cores that are faster and an additional GTX card may be the way to go.
