  2. Thanks Justin. I've just purchased it. v5 must have been updated along the way, the reason I didn't upgrade when it was first released was that it still didn't work with Imager. Great to hear it working now.

  4. Hi cobrien, I can confirm that the FZ Imager has been working with V-Ray 5 for a while and also works with FZ v10 and V-Ray 6. I also just checked to confirm the Decal tool is working here with FZ v10 and V-Ray 6. It appears to be working fine when rendered with the V-Ray frame buffer. Though annoyingly, it's Shaded preview in the Decals window does not appear to be working correctly. RZ preview does work though:
  5. Hello, I'm still using V-Ray v3 with FZ v10 & am thinking about upgrading to v6 when it's out. Does anyone know if it works with FZ Imager (v3 doesn't)? I also noticed the FZ website mentions decal support, do decals & V-Ray now work? Thanks

  7. Hello CMick, To do my example, you need to use the Pick tool and Point topology to select the opposite points you want to scale down, then Transform as I did with just those two points selected. On the Fillet or Controlled Rounding operations where you are getting an error message. This is because your Radius is too large for it to create an initial preview. Reduce it down to like 1mm or something then try again. Everyone, I love seeing all these examples of how to create basically the same part. formZ = Flexibility

  9. Hi Grant, It looks like your Drafting Tools toolbar got reset in a strange way and is now setup with a large Tool Icon Size. I can recreate this here by turning up the Tool Icon Size: Thankfully, you can easily reset this smaller. Start by going to Workspace > Tool Manager. With the Tool Manager window open, Right Click on the oversized icon Tool bar and click on Settings...: Drag the little blue slider over to about the Third index mark and click OK and you will get a smaller Tool Icon Size: Cheers.
  10. Hello again, Looking over the original product demo video, they do not use a mid point snap for this step. It may look like it at first, but other than the center snap, they just are clicking at the relative points because the part is built on a even scale that matches the Grid settings. You'll need to type in a numeric value for the Distance at this step if you want the middle of this cylinder circumfrance. So if your center cylinder is 4mm thick, then type in 2 and hit ENTER when you do the offset tool.
  11. This week's form•Z Fundamentals video "Slicing Tools, Part 1" is now available on Youtube.
  12. Strange, Controlled Round (C-Round) on 3D objects and Fillet on 2D objects are working fine here: Can you create repeatable steps to try and recreate your problem?
  13. I've had the same issue of parts show up on the right in the list, but the parts do not show up anywhere on screen, check hither and yon was not affecting it also, some times can be retrieved from the backup file but normally requires a rebuild, went back to v9.
  14. Hi Evan, Still watching your weekly form•Z Fundamentals training series for form•Z v10 with interest. I was wondering, do you have a list to share of the entire training series that you hope to cover !
  15. Well, I haven’t tried this for a while, as it never worked properly for me on any except the earliest versions of FormZ, unfortunate, since I am/was (now 86 going on 87 and doing this as a ‘hobby’) an industrial patternmaker by trade, needing draft and radii and fillets everywhere… Now I can’t get the Craig’s to work at all - when I choose the tool and click in an edge I want to radius, the tool options don’t even appear and I am told it is impossible! I created a simple cube and even with that it didn’t work, I can only radius everything with the other tool or nothing. What IS going on? And now, when I close a drawing and don’t save, when I reopen, all the parts show up on the right in the list, but the parts do not show up anywhere at any magnification or mode. The file is as of that point a useless waste of time and effort and everything is lost that I have been working on. Good job I don’t need this for work anymore…
  16. By the way… David mentioned in an email about Synology, but I use this setup already for years without getting ghosted folders. I believe it’s a problem caused by the FMZ v10 version, or by the newly added options for Twinmotion… No ghost folders with the latest v9 version.
  17. Yes I have a Synology NAS, for backup and store my Maxwell rendered files and original Maxwell materials. But, al my documents are in iCloud. Syncing is organised by Apple iCloud.
  18. Hugo, do you have a synology in use for file shares and synchronization?
  19. Continuing on from trying to recreate part example on Form Z product page: I cannot seem to get the mid-point snap to work with offset tool to modify the middle rounded section. The endpoints do seem to have snapping, I believe I have the correct snap options set on the bottom part of the screen (pretty much all of them at this point in trying to get this to work). Video attached for demonstration purposes, end points are clearly 'snapping' and showing round dots/bullets. _No midpoint Outline Snapping.mp4
  20. Hi, i can reproduce a somewhat irritating behaviour of Formz while opening files on a share (smb mounted synology) connected to a mac studio. Those folders are named "Application Support..“ (in the top directory) and „Library..“ (in the subdirectory of the share). And yes: with TWO dots(!) at the end and no further content! 22. I got as far as rounding and all it had for me was non-descriptive error messages 🤕
  23. This week's form•Z Fundamentals video "Introduction to Modifying Objects using Booleans, Part 2" is now available on Youtube.
  24. Hi Justin, Thanx for your reply. My M1 Macbook Pro has a 14" liquid retina XDR screen with a resolution of 3024 x 1964. I can't seem to alter my default screen in any way. I have attached a screenshot of my default screen to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Regards, Grant Thompson
  25. Great work Sebastien! Thanks for sharing. 👍
  26. Having tried both versions (Mac and Win), the Mac version just looks a lot better. I'm not sure if I can back that up with any kind of metric, it feels very sleek. If I didn't get the Vray option and a very capable PC Build, I doubt I would ever want to use the windows version. But seriously I do want the windows version to up its game.
  27. Another Display Option question. With v10 when viewing in Shaded with edges off the edges are still displayed, when in Shaded full they are off but the colours are way different to the Shaded view required recolouring the objects. Also wondering if Fake Space will be coming back anytime soon?
  28. ZTEK, this gives me hope. Absolutely excellent display. I am trying to figure where I was going wrong on that initial profile and trim was just failing me.
