a connection to the internet is required in order to register

No matter how I try to disable firewalls or use different internet connections, Wifi, cellular and ethernet Cable.
I get; "a connection to the internet is required in order to register" when I try to register the software, what is happening?

Installed on friday so no support yet, would really appreciate to be able to start working in version 9.

Try to create a new file from splash screen before register...

when I had a similar issue I got this advice from Brandon (Tech Support):

>>Hello,
It's possible it may be a permissions issue.

- Close form•Z
- In the Finder, navigate to Applications.
- Select the "formZ 9" folder.
- Select get Get Info from the File menu (or right click and select Get Info).
- In the info window, click the lock icon in the lower right to unlock the interface and type your password.
- Make sure that the Ownership of the folder which is usually the top line of permissions has your user name (indicated with “Me”) and the permissions  are set to Read and Write.
- Click on the gear at the bottom of the window and select "Apply To enclosed items” and select OK.
- Restart form•Z and try to register. <<

Received a code from support so got it working before I saw your reply.

Due to an update to our domain, v.7 - v.8.6 will need to be updated manually. To ensure the license file is written properly during the registration process, it is best to make sure formZ will have the permissions to Read & Write, as vva mentions above. Again, the steps are: 

- In the Finder, navigate to Applications/.
- Select the "formZ 8" folder.
- Select get Get Info from the File menu (or right click and select Get Info).
- In the info window, click the lock icon in the lower right to unlock the interface and type your password.
- Make sure that the Ownership of the folder which is usually the top line of permissions has your user name (indicated with “Me”) and the permissions  are set to Read and Write.
- Click on the gear at the bottom of the window and select "Apply To enclosed items” and select OK.
- Restart form•Z and try to register. 

You will need to then use the alternate registration procedure by holding down the Option key (Mac OS) or Alt key (Windows) when you click the "Register" button. This will call up the alternate registration dialog. Follow the first 3 steps and email us the Step 3 code, and we will respond with the Step 4 code for you to copy and paste into the step 4 field to finish the registration.
