davidhard
I have been asked to do a live 3D fly through of a project I am working on as part of a presentation. I had a little bit of experience with using a VRML viewer many many years ago. But I was wondering what people use now to do live interactive walk throughs. Any help is greatly appreciated. I am on a Mac, so please let me know if you know of a good current VRML viewer I should try. Basically, my boss got really excited when I was walking him through a scene with the walkthrough tool and Shaded work display turned on. He wants me to do the same thing in a presentation so he can talk through a lot of points. Does FormZ have a stand alone viewer so I don't have to do it with the modeling software? Lemme know. Tech
Hi David, We are working on a viewer but it is not ready just yet. You could set up a Workspace in formZ itself that hides most of the palettes and tools to maximize your viewing, or you could also use the Free version of formZ to do an interactive presentation if you like. davidhard
Cool! I'll check out the free version. I have a bunch of Renderzone and Maxwell materials assigned to a lot of the objects. Will they work in the free version? or will I need to create new textures? I would be happy to test a beta version if you have one available I can tell already from my boss's excitement that this is going to be something he will want to do more often. rob
I would just do it in formZ with a customized workspace -- unless you need to use a computer that does not have a license... Then you could always open up a palette that you have hidden when your client invariably asks for something you didn't anticipate...
davidhard
Yup. I'm going to use FormZ Free to do the presentation. It works great! My boss is stoked. But, is there a way to create a custom workspace in FormZ Free so it's just the nav tools? It's no biggie if it's not possible. I would just save me some time so I don't have to close a bunch of tool palettes each time I want to present.
ZTEK
David, In Mac, with OS X Yosemite it’s possible to expand the FZ main window to full view. You need to pick in the window green button, and then hide all the palettes with a shortcut to fill the screen as a presentation mode. Very easy. Take a look at the mov I have uploaded. Tech
Hi David, In addition to Marcelo's answer, the current release of formZ Free does not include the feature to allow customization. We have decided to add this ability to the Free version, and that should be available in the next week or two when we release our next update.
