    STEP export in 8.5

mk, did you send your file to ADS?
  3. I think you need to convert the images to a MOV file first

saving resource models with their textures

If they are properly linked, Save A COPY As and check Image Files. Verify they are properly linked via File: Project Info: Linked Files.
  5. I think that's what they meant to say here...
  6. Did you try Triangulate All? Or why not use OBJ, that's what our office prefers...
  7. Yes, Hidden Line with Options from the Frame Parameters... Or you can use an image.
  8. Perhaps just map an animated image onto the surface of the water and give it a subtle (static) bump map?

    Export FormZ to SketchUp

We rarely export to SKP, but when we do, we use OBJ. Does that work better for you?
  10. animated deform? Search the "formZ penguin animation" on Youtube...
  11. Use the Plan option with the appropriate height, no?
  12. 8502 fixed a number of things, but working fine for us. Would not upgrade to 10.11 with an older version though...
  13. So just ROTATE the map so it faces the way you want, NO?

    V 7 newbie snap help

Crazy numbers could appear if your cursor is not able to map on the active plane (ie, if you have the XY plane, and your eye is above it and looking up). Just use reasonable view parameters and / or the right plane and it should work properly...
  15. Just rotate it? And Flat Map would probably be just as good...

Unresponsive tools on Windows 7 install

David Dude, I have used formZ on a lot of systems as have my co-workers, and we have Never heard of this before BUT I made some suggestions for you yesterday. Did you try them? Did you save your key shortcuts to a file? And when the stop working, does reloading them fix it? And when your key shortcuts stop working, do they still show from the menu, or no? (Single key number key shortcuts are a really BAD idea because they will likely conflict with numeric input...) Do you have your Scratch Disk set to System Defaults (vai Prefs) or are you changing that for some reason -- and if so, does not changing that help? And did you install the latest driver for keyboard and mouse? Installing and managing your system on a Mac is pretty seamless - but something you need to do yourself on Windows. Believe me, if anyone else had the problems you note, they would be posting the same thing but they are not. There can be a few quirky things with Workspaces, but what you report is NOT normal, and formZ does behave reliably on Windows, as well as Mac. AND (oops, said that already before too) -- if you Save your preferred Workspace, does Reloading the Workspace (instead of deleting the autodessys folder) help?

Unresponsive tools on Windows 7 install

formZ works fine for us on large 4k screens with our PC's. We have never "lost a shortcut" either. You are using formZ 852, right? And what exactly is happening on your system?

    New to Form Z Problems

Hey Amp, Not sure if I understand exactly but: 1. Draw it right the first time. Click to start -- and enter the desired width and length (or whatever) in the Input Palette. 2. If you want to "drop the object from the (orange) result buffer, just hit the ESC key. 3. Or, hit the Tilda (~) key to activate the Pick tool, right click the shape, and Show Controls. Then you can manipulate these. 4. Or, with the Pick tool active, hold down the Command / Ctrl key and just drag a part of the object. Does that help?

    FormZ 9 wish list...

You can either speed up the double click speed of your mouse -- or you CAN just double click on the Object to rename it (and click OK), no?
  20. Do those come with a free NDA waiver?
  21. Great work, thanks guys!
  22. Just create a new thread in Tutorials by Users, post your stuff, invite comments, and others to post theirs! Why not?? If something better comes along (how would that be different), you can post there too...
  23. Thanks Paul, will have to check that out...
  24. That should be super quick and easy, no? How is that tedious? (Did you use the Segment Sequence topo / part level?)
  25. Use the Pick tool to select the desired sequence, and then use the Derive Segment with Join option...
