nano
Has anyone successfully used the VRay environmental aerial view fog? I just can't seem to work out how to get a heavy visual fog happening. I want to emulate the very straight forward Renderzone style visual fog where you fade the camera view background into a colour such as white or black. So far the defocussed depth of field has worked ok but no luck at all getting the fog to work.
Justin Montoya
I haven't gotten the fog to work yet either. Have you played with the zdepth yet? It also creates some nice dof effects.
nano
bump - any progress on adding any viable environmental fog yet?
Andrew West
Not sure this is the solution you are looking for but it is possible to use the depth of field (zdepth) channel in Photoshop to introduce the fog on its own layer. I have found that one of the great strengths of V-ray is the ability to have all effects on separate layers. Especially when it comes to reflections or DOF.
