setz
If I have created a material using the "generic" options. Is there a way to make a V-Ray material file from those settings?
nano
I don't believe so - based on quick experiments with the formz material interface. But given that there is only a small number of options on the default generic setup for materials with about 8 options and each of those with a simple range of subsets it would not take long to copy the default VRMAT file and recreate your materials and add them to a more permanent library. You can quickly add the generic mats to your own library for future use but the benefits of having the more permanent VRMAT library files seems a better way to go in the long run although taking longer to setup initially. Tech
Currently its not possible to save a formZ generic (or car paint, emissive etc..) material to a VRMAT. We have requested this functionality from Chaos Group so hopefully they will add it to the API in the future.
