Workspace problems

My default Modeling workspace is totally messed up.  I installed 8.6 and the V-Ray beta.  Now BOTH 8.5.7 and 8.6 Modeling workspaces are missing the palette dock.  Many of my palettes are located within the palette dock and all are hidden.  I have restarted program and cpu with now luck.  My saved workspace is also experiencing the same issue.  The other default workspaces still seem to work and the palette dock comes up with them.  However, I really need the Modeling workspace back asap.

 

How would I restore?  Reinstall the entire program?

One tried and true method in the past has been to rename your Form.z folder.  Not sure why this works but it has saved my skin a few times.

threw my user:library autodessys folder in the trash.  it worked.   the infinite FormZ Workspace battle rolls on!

Between the workspace issue and components they have their work cut out for them.  Always remember that all software programs are a work in progress.

agreed.  all programs have issues.  however I have not had as many workspace issues with other programs.  I would trade workspace flexibility for more stability.

Yes to some degree that is true. However I can say without hesitation that during the 6 or so years I have used FZ, I have had more issues with it than all my other software combined.
