Bartjuan
What am I doing wrong here? I want to add horz divisions into my [curved] wall. using Reshape>offset segment, I expect it to keep the offset line/arc on the surface of the wall. Not floating in space, perpendicular to the wall. Is this expected behavior?
Tech
Hi Bart, The Reshape: Insertions only work with Flat (Planar) faces -- whereas this one is curved: To get what you want, perhaps you can Split with Line and Stitch?

Bartjuan
Thanks Z I can use that workaround. The manual for offset segment seems to suggest this is possible but I guess this is only if the arc/spline segment is coplanar with the face. or not always trying this on a simple cube, with a circle imprinted on one face, then offset segment, if the offset goes to 0 length geometry, crash. Offset Outline seems to work OK. I'd like this to be added to the offset Segment capabilities if possible. it would be very helpful for creating baseboard, soffits, material seams on curved walls. Thanks again Bart
Tech
Hi Bart, The Offset and Insert ONLY work on Flat faces. Offsetting the circular segment to a zero radius should not be expected to reproduce any meaningful results, but obviously it should not crash. Thanks for your report, we will get this corrected.
