cobrien
Hello, When I download files from sites like Turbosquid they often come with graphics like the attached image. Can anyone tell me how I go about mapping these files to the model? I tried to upload the model file the graphic corresponds to but it says I'm not permitted to upload that kind of file?? thanks. ¢hris £und
Those are UV maps. Typically the models settings when imported have that set even if it drops the actual map. If that is the case, just lad the image map and apply to the model. If it is dropping the UV coordinates entirely, you can try to set it to UV map, but your problems may be deep, as fZ's uv mapping can use some work. Tech
Hi Cobrien, Welcome to the forum! Yes, those maps should import automatically. If you are having any issues, please zip and post the file (or email it to support@formz.com) so we can help.
cobrien
Thanks for the reply's I've been playing around with it but not having much luck. Attached are the files I downloaded, although I had to reduce the size of the image so it would upload. horse.zip
Tech
Hi Cobrien, .OBJ files require a .MTL file that specifies the textures and the mapping. Without this, it is expected that you would not get textures properly.
