AsOne
Is it typical for a point light to cause a major slowdown in on screen render speed in Shaded Full mode? I placed a point light and in Shaded Full mode trying to walk around my scene has become painfully slow. If I turn the light off then it moves much faster. Is this typical of point lights in general? I'm also getting a lot of crashes with the point light. So much so that deleting it probably makes more sense. I'm trying to light an interior kitchen scene. Tech
Hi Paul, Well, depending on how close you are to filling the memory of your video card, it could make it slower -- but usually not a lot. It definitely shouldn't cause any crashes either. What operating system are you using, and what video card do you have? Are there any repeatable steps that you can find that cause the crash on your system? And can you please send the file so we can test it here? AsOne
I copied the file to a black file using File:Open:Add to Project That seems to have corrected the issue and I was able to add multiple point lights without causing crashes or slowdowns. I will send the problem file in for testing however.
Tech
Hi Paul, We haven't received any files for this yet. If you are able to reproduce this, please send your file when you have a chance and we will investigate this further.
