DMclean
Axial Sweep "as positioned" not generating what I'm thinking it should. Is the problem with Axial sweep or my thinking? Thanks, Doug Axial Sweep.fmz.zip
Tech
Hi Doug, There are two issues here: 1. The direction of the path should point away from the source shape, and 2. the path is expected to have a plane (and thus more than 2 points). We will see what we can do to handle a case like this, but if you just Move a Copy of the source shape and use the Ruled Loft tool: Then you should get what you want. Does that help? DMclean
Thanks, I did in fact use the Ruled Loft to create the shape, so that definitely works. Reversing the direction of the line didn't help of course which is explained by the fact that the tool was expecting the path to have a plane to it. If I do have a path that has a plane to it, there is still another small problem with the Axial Sweep tool which is that if the direction of the path is incorrect, choosing Reverse Path in the options doesn't solve the problem. I have to Control-Z, Reverse the path using the Reverse Tool and then the shape generates correctly. Thanks, Doug
