Teddydog
Is there a way to convert a mesh (TIN) to a bitmap? It may be obvious but I can't see a way. This would be very useful to me for rendering terrain using the resulting bitmap as a Digital Elevation Model. Thanks in advance for your consideration. rob
Not sure if I understand. Did you want the Displace tool? Or to flat map a gradient to the side of a terrain and render from the top?
Tech
Hi Teddy, We are also not sure if we understand exactly what you want. Do either of Rob's suggestions help?
chrisd
Not sure if I understand. Did you want the Displace tool? Or to flat map a gradient to the side of a terrain and render from the top? This is a good work around for applications that don't have a ZBuffer (depth) render. However, if Teddydog looking for 16bit greyscale data (the format for DEM) this would have to be interpolated (ie Gaussian Blur) from the 8bit greyscale resulting image in Photoshop or other application that can work with 16bits/channel.
