Imagix
Which format would work best for exporting from Revit and importing to FormZ 8, so that it best retains layers, materials, parametric objects etc? Thanks Anders
Tech
Hi Anders, Export DWG with ACIS objects is the best to support geometry, and layers. This works very well and should be very easy to use. If you need Materials support more than parametric geometry, then you can try using this IFC converter to make an OBJ file which can be imported with textures: http://forums.formz.com/index.php?/topic/2407-fantastic-free-open-source-resource-for-converting-architectural-bim-models-to-formz-readable-formats/?hl=revit Does that help? Imagix
I will try it. Layers and geometry is the most important :-) Thanks Anders
etroxel
Layers and geometry will come in simply by using DWG with ACIS solids turned on in the export preferences in Revit.
