Light glow

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Is it possible to show light effects like the image attached with v-ray? I recall doing it in RenderZone (glow maybe?) but I can't work out how to do it in V-ray

FZ 10 V-Ray v3 or v6

Howdy,

I've been able to get some of these effects but not all of them.

You'll want to play around with the Environment Fog under the V-Ray Settings:

However that will only create a more consistent type fog, not a smoke like your example:

It's possible to create a Smoke material combined with a smoke Opacity map, but I'm not sure how to combine that with the Environment fog to do this yet.  It might be as simple as a plane mapped with the smoke opacity material, but when I briefly tried it didn't seem to work well.

Then again, adding the smoke effect may be easiest to achieve with post processing in Photoshop after rendering.
