Seeing black spots in image maps, maybe your camera is too far...

Just discovered this, and maybe it helps you.

If you are in an axonometric view (helps to place objects in scene without switching views), V-ray will automatically switch you to 3-Point perspective on render.  Makes sense, as that is how its camera renders. 

This means your camera is effectively placed 1000s of yards / meters away, and you get anomalies like below. Your project is not corrupt!  It is just drawn that way.
