Xtrudio
Hello, I'm using 7.3 on Mavericks. I have to move many objects individually, to fine tune the position. In top view. Randomly and repeatedly the move tool jumps from the self to the copy setting, on it's own. Anybody knows why? Thanks
Tech
Hi Xtrudio, Tapping your Alt key (Win) or Option key (Mac) will toggle back and forth between Self and the last used Copy mode. Watch your Action Palette for this, and other useful tips.
jonmoore
This page from the help menu explains all tap key mechanisms (there are a fair few and the behaviour changes depending on the tool/context) http://www.formz.com/manuals/formZ8/formZ_Pro/!SSL!/WebHelp/02000_Taps.html I found Tap Keys really disruptive for a long time but now find them invaluable to the way FormZ works. You can however disable them in the modelling section of the preferences (towards the bottom). I personally recommend this if you only use FormZ infrequently because they're only beneficial when they're all committed to muscle memory. It's also worth disabling Tap Keys when you're first learning the toolset as everything they allow you to do can be accessed through the Tool Options palette (or similar). But once you're ready to increase your efficiency in FormZ, that's the time to re-enable Tap Keys.
