The Q
I have a vendor requesting a file format that maintains 3 point arcs for CNC routing. What file format is best suited for this? Thanks for your feedback.
Tech
Hi Chuck, First make sure that you have 2d polylines, splines, or arcs, use the Curve to Arcs tool to covert them all to arcs, and Export DWG with the Export Method set to As Polylines. Does that do what you want?
The Q
I imported a logo (Illustrator 8) file and the curve to arc tool squares of the rounded corners.
Tech
Did you set the appropriate Maximum Deviation value?
The Q
Ok. I set the Maximum Deviation to zero and it appears to have smooth out. What would be the ideal export format for CNC routing? Thanks.
