close in a hole?

Say I have a 6 sided cube and one of the sides is missing, so it's not a solid.  Is there an easy way to fill in that missing hole? C4D has a simple "close polygon hole" command or a "bridge" command to fill in between 2 segments.  It seems some times Object Doctor fills it in but not always, and I'd like to do it manually.  Is this simple and I'm just missing it? thanks

There are several ways to do it. Object doctor can do it, if the maximum number of points isn't below the number of points needed to fill that gap. It might also be a problem when the newly created face is (or would be) not planar. Other methods: if there's a defined outline, select this to derive a face, which you can stitch to the object. Or you can draw such a face using a point snap. I'm sure there are still more ways…

Hi Archigraphica,

Yes, Bernd correctly identifies the 3 most obvious ways to close a hole -- the easiest generally being the Object Doctor.  If you delete two adjacent faces of a cube, then you would need to draw and stitch one of these first before using the Object Doctor to fix the other.  (If the two faces missing were not adjacent (i.e., top and bottom), then the Object Doctor could easily fix that.)

I know that you know. However, preserving and restoring old things (guitars that is) is my hobby, so this old name plate just nicely fits me. Will get replaced one day for sure :)
