jonmoore
I've noticed that the Place Windows/Doors tool is missing from the Components palette on my 8.5.02 install on OS X. I can however still access the tool via the spacebar/tools shortcut. Reinstalled the 8.5.02 install folders from the FTP and the problem still persists. I'm loathed to scrap my preferences in usr/library as I have very specific settings which will take a long time to replicate.
Tech
Hi Jon, Most likely that was removed when you had the Tool Manager open. To restore it, tear off that palette, open the Workspace Menu: Tool Manager, and just drag the tool (from the Special Category) to the desired location on that palette. Does that help? jonmoore
Thank you kindly. That fixed my situation. I had no idea that you could alter the default palettes, I always thought they were a fixed part of the UX. Having had a quick play it appears that a user can add items to a default palette but they can't change the order of the icons in a palette (unless there's an option that allows for this somewhere).Cheers.
