Designgirl661
Is there a quick way to put the controller axis onto the surface you are texture mapping when editing a texture on the surface? The "align to face" button would seem to be the answer, but it doesn't do anything that I can tell, (if it's not greyed out in the first place..) The default puts the axis on 0,0. in the center of the scene, and not where it could do the most good, on the surface that is being mapped. Please tell me there is a shortcut, or preference check box that I am missing? Thanks!!
Tech
Hi DesignGirl, Welcome to the forum! In general the texture mapping axes should be on the object directly, but if it is not for some reason, use the Edit Texture tool with the Edit in 3D option to move the controller onto the object. Then switch back to the Edit on Face option. Does that help?
Designgirl661
Yes, Thank you! I also found that if I use UV mapping as my first option, it seems to add it to the face that way, (at least some of the time,) then I can switch to flat or cubic mapping, and it will stay on the face when I make the switch. Thanks again!!
