SJD
Hi I have 2 spheres sitting on a plain white surface. One is opaque and the other is a stock glass accurate surface style. Why doesn't the glass sphere cause any ambient occlusion? (they are both the same object)
Andrew West
Something is not right there. I think you might have shadow casting turned off for that object or it might be a material issue. When I test it on my system the only time I lose AO is when the object is very transparent. Yours is not. Then if I go into my vray AO settings and really bump up the values I get a tremendous amount of AO from my glass.
SJD
Hi Andrew I think it's definitely a material issue - here's the same object with the same surface style It's the same on all glass, simple and accurate. Not an issue I encountered using V
