sjj
Hi, I'm trying to export a cabinet model to Sketchup for panel layout purposes, so i'm exporting with the following options in the image. The panel looks fine in FormZ but when imported into Sketchup the amount of segments in the curve is massively reduced and therefore unusable? Does anyone know a way to negate/fix this? Cheers SJJ
ZTEK
Try picking on Export Facetted Objects As ACIS Objects and see how Sketchup do his job importing or, before export, do the conversion to facetted in formZ directly.
snow
change "smooth" to facetted in the drop down and also change the radial button from "parametric" to "facetted" sketchup doesn't play well with smooth geometry.
sjj
Cheers guys but the other issue it that if i export as facetted the assembly comes thru as one component in sketchup. I did a bit of digging and it seems sketchup imports with a limited amount of curve segment steps, so the solution is to subdivide the curves by adding points to the original vectors. On import to Sketchup you get clean curves and geometry and each part is it's own component.
