objects won't boolean (union)

Recommended Posts

I think the best way to accomplish what you were after is to create the object as a sweep, rather than the way you did it. Then, since a sweep is an editable object, you can move the control points as you want. I created a circle and a rectangle. Then rounded the corners of the rectangle, then sweep the circle around the rounded-corner rectangle. Then you can edit the controls of the sweep as I show.

Idk how you created your object, but there's something odd about it.

the left part of the tubes has severe problems.

delete that object and rotate with copy the other object and then you can union both objects

allan,

these objects were created just the way you explained... started with a rectangle, fillet, swept a circle.  then I split the object with a line.  nothing too complicated was done, which is part of the frustration and confusion as to why they wouldn't boolean.

vva,

thanks, i didn't think about doing that. it worked.
