Spacer
HI , I'd like to see if I can lighten this object up in Mesh reduce, but although it is a single object (separate toll does nothing), i get a message saying, "One or more objects selected for Reduce Mesh operation are surface solids, or partial surface solids. these objects need to be converted to single sided first." But I don't know how. The convert tool is operational on this object. Thanks for any ideas- Peter
Andrew West
Peter I assume that you have used the object doctor on it. I would also try the unmesh tool first and then I would try slicing the object into parts and then trying to reduce the mesh. If that works you could then stitch it back together. Just an idea. In my studio I keep around an old copy of 3ds Max 2012 and that program can usually reduce meshes that Form.z chokes on.

Bo Atkinson
Did you try triangulating before reducing?
