Guest seasdes
I am trying to export a simple FormZ model into dwg format. At present when I open the dwg file in Bricscad the different parts of the buildings display ok as a lot of blocks for each part of the building. Now the problem starts. I then explode the blocks and am left with polyface meshes. I want the model to be exported to dwg as solids. Is this possible? If so what settings do I use? Bartjuan
If there are only solids in the drawing, export as ACIS SAT file. No other drawing data will be exported except solids. Make sure you save back to the right ACIS version for your CAD system
ZTEK
Export your DWG files with the option "Export Facetted Object As ACIS Objects", see the following image with DWG options.
Guest seasdes
Thanks to you both. Both options worked for me. I am importing into Bricscad and Vectorworks 2017. For the project in hand I found the DWG option the best. Only because the model was opened in Bricscad and Vectorworks as an intact model. Wheras, the SAT option the components came into Bricscad and Vectorworks as separate components and had to be assembled. In the long term both options will be useful. Thanks again.
