Alan Cooper
I just updated my graphics driver from previous version and restarted the laptop. 5 minutes later a message popped up (never seen it before) to say temperature thresholds had been exceeded. I was using FormZ at the time but not doing any rendering or anything intensive at all, working in shaded display orthogonal views and Chrome in the background. Luckily I had made a manual system restore point before I updated so I immediately restored my computer back to previous driver. Dell Precision M6700 17inch laptop. Windows 7 pro. Tech
Hi Alan, Yes this sounds like an issue with the graphics driver (unrelated to formZ). If you instal the previous driver, does everything work as expected? Thanks for posting to let other users aware of this issue.
Alan Cooper
Hi Tech, indeed, I have had no problems since my system restore. Have not heard back from AMD.
kac
I had a slew of stupid bugs with that same driver on my RX 480. Best bet is to see what the latest version available from the manufacturer of your card (brand). Mine was a Gigabyte and using the driver from their site and their latest bios seems really stable. Besides my cards fans going fast with that driver I had odd cursor corruption.
