Move self or copy retrospective alt

The number of times I have moved something and had to undo and try again because I forgot to use the alt key in time to change mode from self to copy or vice versa would be quite a big number. Pressing alt after the event to do this would be nice.

If you press ALT while moving an object it will still toggle the Copy mode.  Doing this after the fact will set the Copy mode for the next operation.

 

If you wanted a copy but forgot, you could always copy the result, Undo, (deselect if necessary), and then Paste...

Thanks Tech, yes that could help sometimes, I will do that. One click of the alt key would be so easy for the toggle. Maybe it's just me who forgets.

What would be nice, is if it were allowed to hold down the option/alt key and click for those moments when you want to copy just once.  then when the option/alt were let go, it would return to "self."

 

if the alt were let go prior to the mouse click, then it would switch over and stay to "copy."

Well, if you are on Self, and you notice a copy is not being made, while you are in the middle of the operation, just tap Alt to make a copy.  And vice versa.  When Copy is active, there is also an option to automatically return to Self.

this would be for those "moments" when you want it to be different not a setting.
