DJAB
So, (new user here so please forgive this question, I'm sure its simple.) I have a form z model and maxwell, i hit render and it tells me there are no lights in the scene. Cant maxwell simply use the formz sunlight I have? If not, I basically need to replicate the sunlight via an emitter - that doesn't seem right to me... Or am I missing something here... cheers
setz
Double Click on your sun and edit it's type to Physical Sky. (If you want to also render in Renderzone, make a copy of your sun first because the Maxwell sun won't render in Renderzone.)
DJAB
Setz, Got it, thanks. Don't suppose you know how I adjust the render window, currently with maxwell fire Im not getting the full model (as I'm viewing it on screen), its cropped. Is there a way to display the area that will be rendered? Thanks
pylon
Andyb, The Fire palette should always show exactly what's in your current viewport, with the exception of formZ's 2D perspective views, which are approximated using Maxwell's Shift Lens. Due to inherent differences between "2D Perspective" and "Shift Lens," this does not provide an identical match, but rather a starting point for cropping, which can be readily refined in Fire. If you are using a 2D perspective view, this would explain the discrepancy.
