Justin Montoya
Hey there- I was just thinking it would be great if when you control round a wall, that there could be an option to maintain the wall thickness at the rounding edge, so that that the inside and outside rounds stay proportionate to the wall thickness. For example, If you increase or decrease the outer edge round of a wall, it could automatically change the inner edge so the wall maintains a consistent thickness. Make sense? Tech
Hi Justin, Well, one option would be to just draw the wall as a line -- and Fillet the corner. Then when you Derive a Walled object from it, you will get what you want. If you already have the "parametric" walled object, you can also use the Extract tool to derive the line from the wall, Fillet, and re-derive the wall if you want... Justin Montoya
That makes perfect sense, but having this option built into the control round tool would be much faster and more powerful.
Bartjuan
+1 I typically build basic geometry first and then add fillets later, having a smart fillet offfset would be great
Andrew West
I would like to add one feature to the round tool as well. I also build basic geometry and then round later base on my view angle. Unfortunately, some geometry looses its proper texture mapping when rounded. This is a real hassle to deal with. Please make it work like it did in 6.
