David Lemelin
Hey there, I've been having a little trouble with textures on downloaded resource models. I typically download models from a number of sites and then trouble shoot them in FZ and save as FZ models. The catch is, the textures ae typically external resources and sometimes they get lost or accidentally thrown out, leaving me with a resource that's problematic or simply garbage. I've been thinking of how I might manage these files so as to ensure the textures don't get lost from one use to the next (especially critical with my archived work files where resource models might be ancient...) Does anyone have a workflow for dealing with ensuring textures follow the model file? I have a couple of ideas (including "gather for render farm") but I'd like to hear from anyone who's done a bit of experimenting. I might be a great help to have a file format for this where one could save a model with the texture resources baked in. Thanks for your ideas! rob
If they are properly linked, Save A COPY As and check Image Files. Verify they are properly linked via File: Project Info: Linked Files.
Tech
Hi David, Yes, as Rob notes, using the Save A COPY As command will allow you to collect all referenced image files along with the project. Does that do what you want?
