[Q] DAE export to Unity does not work?

Hi,

 

I'm trying to export a DAE model from FormZ 8.5 (MacOSX) for use in Unity3D. For some reason only a single triangle survives the export. When I try OBJ it works fine.

 

I'm sure that in a previous version of FormZ - I think it was v7 - the export to DAE worked flawlessly.

 

Any idea what could be wrong? Wrong export settings?

 

Any help greatly appreciated.

Rob, ZWeb,

 

Many thanks for your replies. Can't get DAE to work even with triangulation on, so I'll stick with OBJ. In the past I think DAE was preferred for texturing reasons that's why I tried DAE.

 

ZWeb:

Any chance of supporting FBX with embedded animation?

Hi Pobo,

 

Yes, we have now released the FBX plugin for testing.  From the feedback we have received so far, it is working quite well!

 

We probably should have replied back to this thread when we released that.  Thanks to Andrew for posting the link!  ;)
