unstitch question

Recommended Posts

I want to unstitch all the black/grey polys...

Is there an easier method than hand selecting all these faces prior to an unstitch operation ?

Hi Pipo,

You could select one of the faces on the grill for example, then right click and "select all with the same material", copy into clipboard, delete the faces while still selected and then paste.

Hope that helps..

Hi Pipo,

Right click on any one of the faces, choose Select All Faces with Same Material, and then click in the screen with the UnStitch tool.

When you are Importing objects,  make sure to keep the Construct Solids: Combine Surfaces with different Materials unchecked to prevent stitching them in the first place (if that created this condition).

Does that help?

Thanks for the tip , yes this helps..

With a model like this often the separate tool won't break up the object.

If this same model had polygons all the same color , presume then there is no solution other than hand selecting ?

Hi Pipo,

Yes, the Separate tool only separates independent surfaces.

You can also use the Select Segment Sequence to select a part of an object, and then Unstitch based on that if you want...
