Andre Conlledo
In formZ8 I was able to export images as DWG with scale. In AutoCAD all I had to do is scale it up by 100. Right now scaling is random and each exported image has to be manually scaled. Is there another way of doing this without going though formZ Layout? Tech
Hi Andre, Currently the only way to export an image at scale is via the Layout mode. If you use the standard Export DWG command, then this will be a scaled model, but if you only want 2d, you would need to either derive that elsewhere, use Layout, or scale the Export Image... Andre Conlledo
Thanks Z. Can you help me fix my formZ LayOut? I can't use it. I get a program Access Violation. zdump_a2_b9709_11_04_2015_12_35_40.zip
Tech
Hi Andre, Sorry you are having trouble. Please email directly to support@formz.com so we can help, and include the version of formZ that you are using, your operating system, video card, and video driver information, and whether this happens just by launching Layout (and if so, at what point), or if that happens when opening a specific file (and if so, attach that file). R2D2
This should really be fixed/restored asap. Please. It is really annoying not to be able to generate a quick HL render (even if it is only from front/top/side views, as before) and export 2D at scale, "as is", without "postproduction". Be it via Layout or calculating scale values in CAD @ ,0000 accuracy) If the wishlist hadn`t exploded I`d again add: Generate clipping Plane - "Look at" clipping Plane - Generate HL render - export to scale. (And at least for new or potential users it must be really confusing to import their drawing into 2D CAD and find its scaled by 19,66568338249754....) Andre Conlledo
Yeah, It hurts. It's something I work around but when I lost the "feature" on one of the updates I cried. Ok... Maybe I didn't cry but it did hurt. It used to be really simple, precise and effortless. I'm pretty sure Z can restore this.
Andre Conlledo
Any chance we can get scaled image to DWG exports on formZ 8.5?
Tech
Hi Andre, Yes, we can't say for sure but we are investigating what can be done to restore this in the not too distant future.
AsOne
+1 I use this feature A LOT. It is faster to export directly in Z and scale in another program, then open Layout, setup a file and than a window, scale, export. A proper 1:1 scaled DWG directly from FormZ would be welcome. AsOne
+1 also for similar operation performed from Clipping Plane Section cut (non-destructive). Or at minimum via Section tool or destructive Clipping Plane Section.
