Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 11, 2015 Hello, I'm having a hard time using formZ models for final blueprints mainly because I need files in DWG format. When I export image to DWG from fromZ 8 or formZ 8.5 in either hidden line or plain wireframe I get unclean lines and inaccurate geometry. I tried using formZ Layouts and even though the results are cleaner they still have the same problem. Please watch this video. I'm uploading a zip file with some of the files shown on the video. 1 Andrea reacted to this
Tech 962 Posted September 11, 2015 Hi Andre, We are not seeing any files. Where did you upload them?
Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 11, 2015 My bad, I didn't upload them at all. Casa RA test.zip
Tech 962 Posted September 11, 2015 Hi Andre, Thanks for your report, we will get this corrected. For now, if you go to your Project Settings: Working Units -- and increase the Unit Accuracy (perhaps add two zeros before the 1), then this will improve this 99%. Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 11, 2015 I will do that, thank you very much! If you find a solution sometime soon would you let us know? Even if it's only an "in-house" solution I would very much appreciate it if I could have access to it.
Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 21, 2015 Hello formZ -- was this problem solved with the new update?
Tech 962 Posted September 21, 2015 Hi Andre, We are still investigating that issue. Did increasing the Unit Accuracy help?
Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 21, 2015 Not really. It didn't tighten the group of extra lines.
Tech 962 Posted September 21, 2015 Please save your .FMZ file exactly as you are trying to export with the suggested changes made, zip, and post it so we can take a look...
Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 21, 2015 Here's the 3D model with the clipping plane activated. I exported an image in both wireframe and hidden line and attached both files. You'll find the multiple line issue on the hidden line export. To do so just zoom in to any intersecting lines as I did on the video. On formZ 8.5.0.1 build 9661 the wireframe export seems to have no problems. It's possible to clean this file and work with it in AutoCad but it takes a lot of work. Do you know how to clean the extra lines from AutoCad? I have tried several procedures but non of them delivers accurate results (probably something for Autodesk forums). formZbug.zip 1 Andrea reacted to this
Tech 962 Posted September 22, 2015 Hi Andre, We have been able to reproduce this problem on certain computers. Thanks for you report, we will get this corrected.Try setting the object Attributes : Cross Section : Line Weight to 1 and see if that helps. This method did not “fix” the problem 100% for us, but it did yield much better results. 1 Andre Conlledo reacted to this
Andre Conlledo 90 Posted September 30, 2015 For whatever is worth I can work with the file but to do so I have to assemble a 2D drawing from two exported DWG files. formZ does well exporting lines with straight angles so I have to rotate the 3D model and export to DWG until I have the pieces I need in straight angles. Andrea 2 Posted January 21, 2016 Hello!!! Will this get fixed anytime soon?
Tech 962 Posted February 4, 2016 Yes, this issue has now been corrected, and Export Image: DXF / DWG will no longer export duplicate lines. Just update to 8.5.3 as discussed here: http://forums.formz.com/index.php?/topic/3518-form•z-853-update-released/?p=11733 (Additional options as discussed above will be included in the future, but you should not get multiple lines any more...)
