bodybuck in formz free

Recommended Posts

howdy, I'm new to Form Z and have only recently downloaded the form Z free.

I am wanting to convert a 3D shape to a series of thin plate forms that can be printed and used as a template. - i.e. a a egg crate body buck

I've managed to import a Sketch model, see screen shot,  but alas don't know how to progress.

any advice appreciated.

attached is image of a (real) egg crate form

Hi Gdorn,

Welcome to the forum!

I am not sure if formZ Free will have ALL the tools you need to do this, but you can certainly do a fair bit -- as long as the SketchUp geometry is properly formed.  (Typically SketchUp files are garbage, but that model appears to have been built elsewhere(?).)

Check out the video in the link above, and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be glad to help.  :)
