AsOne
While moving an object is it possible to snap to a guide in a side view that is not in same plane as an object? If not, could this functionality be added?
Tech
Hold Shift key down while dragging along a guide to lock the movement along that guide. See Tip of the Week for an example: http://www.formz.com/support/tips/tip2.html
palarsen
I can not lock to a guide if the guide is behind or exactly at model geometry. Once you get a big model, guide locking becomes a problem. You need to zoom out to find the guide, lock, and zoom in to the other reference point. Fake space does not help. I believe guides should always be "on top" in the model window. As in always visible and reachable. If not, ortho locking is too hard to achieve.
AsOne
I use the Shift key a lot, but I'm talking about an intersect snap to a guide line that is not in the same reference plane as my object. I guess what I'm getting that is that I want the guides to not be reference plane dependent. I think palarsen is suggesting the same thing.
