Exocubic
It looks like the Rhino devs are going to add the Cycles rendering engine (perhaps even as the default in V6). It's open source, so there's no reason formZ can't utilize it as well. What do you all think? http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:2.6/Source/Render/Cycles
Exocubic
Here's a bit more information on the Apache license: http://code.blender.org/index.php/2013/08/cycles-render-engine-released-with-permissive-license/ And a bit more info on Cycles itself: http://www.blenderguru.com/tutorials/introduction-to-cycles/ They are also working hard with AMD to bring OpenCL to Cycles, which means we Mac users can look forward to putting our graphics cards to use. I'd really like to see some movement in the rendering department for formZ; Renderzone is getting pretty dated at this point.
Andrew West
That render engine sure would be nice to have. Or any other render engine for that matter. While I can achieve pretty good results with Renderzone it still requires a lot of tricks and post processing to get close to what Vray and others can achieve directly. 3dworks
...years of speculations about vray for FZ. at this point i would get more hopes for corona! ;-) https://corona-renderer.com they already announced a rhino plugin... compared to vray it seems to be much easier to use and it is about to get adopted by major viz studios all around. a good reason to jump on this train now. also, the licensing fees seem to be very reasonable to me. markus
