etroxel
Is there a way to make dimensions a different color than black? I've tried changing the attributes, associating them to a material, checking the material average box, all to no avail.
Alan Cooper
Yes but maybe no, depending on color you require for other objects. Display options setting: use object edge color. Dimension settings: Attributes line edge color. So it is with the caveat of everything needing to use object edge color in the display settings. Wouldn't it be nice to have a setting specifically for dimensions and text which was really simple to set the color? Even better, would be for all objects, including dimensions and notes to have an option to set attribute line edge color to 'by layer color'. Then dimension colors and any other objects could be controlled by the layer appointed for them.
Tech
Hi Evan, Yes, you can do this as Alan notes. Perhaps we can find a way to allow all the flexibility but still make this easier in the future.
etroxel
Alan, thanks. I appreciate it. Unfortunately there is no checkbox for Use Object Edge Color in Wireframe display mode, which would also be helpful for this reason. I agree that it would be nice to be able for the dims to accept layer color/material attributes or have it as a part of the dimension settings dialog for every dimension using said style. This would also be accessible through the Project Settings which makes sense to me.
etroxel
Something else I've noticed is that dimensions accept my font substitution in wireframe and shaded modes but when switching to Hidden Line it goes back to Lucida Grande.
