john
Hello, I am trying to know what's the best way to export a model from FZ v8 to TurboCad Pro V8. I have made a top projection of my model and then a exported it as .dwg When imported in TurboCad I get a mesh geomety. How to clear it up? or what export format can be the best ? Thanks for helping! Tech
Hi John, In the DWG Export Options, choose the Export Facetted objects as ACIS objects to prevent the triangulation of concavities and holes. Does that work better for you?
john
Yes i helped. How to prevent the geometry that comes out around the circle as a result of the projection? Thanks.
Tech
Hi John, I am not following. Can you send a FMZ and DWG file where this happens for you?
john
I am sending the files. there are some extralines when the projection is created coming out from the circle. those lines should not be part of the geometry projection. Is it a bug or how can I prevent this result? basicmodel1.fmz.zip
rob
Hey John, If I delete everything visible, unghost the remaining object, go to top view, hidden line, and export image, this is what I get. Is that what you want? basicmodel1.zip
john
HI Rob, Thanks...that way gives the result I want: A true view projection of my model. But the Project tool in the Derive toolbar should not do the same? look at the picture the results it gives. Why does diagonal lines coming form the circles? is it a bug? Thank for the help. Tech
Hi John, Ok, you seen the lines after you PROJECT the surface, not after you Export DWG and Import to another program. These are the Facet lines that you can see in Wireframe. It might be possible to allow the Projection to ignore those edges, we will see if this can be adjusted for the future. But you shouldn't need to Project it, so you can just skip these steps, right?
