kimmo
Hi, How do I create a TV screen emitter that will show an image and will light the room? My goal is to render a dark room with bright TV screen image bringing light to scene. And is there a way to convert a shaded texture to emitter with out loosing the image? I am using FormZ8 and Maxwell 3. I recall that there used to be a button under the Referensed MXM material link window that made that material to be an emitter. Thanks, Kimmo
pylon
Create a new material, and load an HDRI (32-bit radiance or MXI file type) image for the color 'texture' (tv screen). Then, in the Maxwell representation of the material, choose the Emitter material hint, and set the Color parameter to HDRI. setz
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the image is not HDRI or other high radiance file type I don't think it works. A quick way of making a jpg or other low radiance file into a high radiance file is to use "Load Image" in Maxwell Renderer and then save it out using "Save MXI" which will create an MXI which can be used.
