    Piano WIP

    Very nice!
  2. I have a zoomed in section of my model and I want to move the frame contents so the part of the model I want to dimension is visible within the frame. In the tutorial video when the frame contents is picked the model model is selected and turns red and is moved around inside the frame. However, when I go to pick frame contents I am only able to pick elements of the model so when I moved them it ruins my drawing. How do I moved the model around inside a zoomed in frame ? Pics below....
  3. I've had to use Layout finally to get some simple elevations done for a client but when I print them and export to pdf all the text is blurred (see screen shot below) Anything I can do ? Didn't there used to be a 'stick font' option for drafting in FormZ ?

Jaako, Where did you get that 3D model of the girl from ? I do a lot of retail work and would love to add a proper 3D person.

Layout - Blurred Text in PDF

I figured it out in case anyone else has the same problem... In the plot/print dialogue box check "Vector Output" and "Use Print Line Weights" Click "Print..." Move slider to "Best"

    Export for CNC paths

I'm working on a cabinet design with everything CNC'd out of sheet plywood. I've tried exporting the model as flat outlines but my CNC guy is having to re-draw the panels because me files contain a lot of lines so he's had to clean it all up. What's the best way to get a nice clean file to him to out into his CNC software ? Thanks!

I did the same with the cabinet and plant pot too.... raised them about 1/8" off the ground.

Just used mainly Vray materials. It's a simple plane light.... and I modelled a simple room around it. The thing that made the biggest difference I feel though was creating a tiny gap along the bottom of the baseboard. It reality things never fit perfectly and when your eye sees that perfection it looks a bit off. You can barely even see it in the rendering but it's there.

    Export for CNC paths

Thanks Chris.... I just heard back from my CNC guy and it seems I need to tie all the segments together too so I'll just have to play around with it.

    Export for CNC paths

Thanks for this... Using the orthographic projection created some funky old geometry... So I ended up using the derive segment tool. Do you know any way of getting rid of those iso lines when do an orthographic projection ?

ooooh, I never use the vrmateditor, I do it all in FormZ. Justin said to load the normals map into the bump map area. Good luck... make sure you post your results if you get it looking good, I'm always keen to learn something new.

Tim, Here's the specs for the material I created... not even a bump map.

something like this ? I didn't really do anything differently. Regular texture map you posted, bit of reflection and a bit of glossiness. Not sure why it looks so different to your image. One thing I have issues with though is bump mapping.... it just seems to make the texture a lot brighter for me.

It's a marijuana growing cabinet. Very legal and very cool in Canada now FormZ and Vray has been a massive part of it's development, still fine tuning things but I'm pretty pumped about it.

Something I was doing as part of a personal project.... thought it looked pretty slick for something that took about 10 minutes to set up after I had the model done.

Wow, that rendering is spot on. Nice work!

The shirt is a bit washed out.... was rushing to run off a bunch of different renders. It's just a flat texture map with a transparency.

    V-Ray Render Farm

Hey Justin, I have a project in the pipes that will need me to render a 10' x 10' image for a life size graphic display. Just curious to know how one exports as a VRSCENE ? and would you be kind enough to run a test for me to see how long something like that would be for you to render ?

Haha, I was scrolling up and saw the Renderzone image first and was thinking... meh, that's a bit naff. LOL Vray one looks a million times better... nice job!

I like the sound of this. I'm going to see if I can figure out... I may come back with some questions. In the mean time, here's an example image I did lately....
