Tech got a reaction from AHTOH in Measure Distance tool does not want resize
    Dear Anton,

Did you try measuring a specific object as we show?  If so, that should scale everything.

If you are measuring between objects, it is expected to change the distance between them, BUT if you have a bunch of pre-picked objects, then perhaps it could scale all of them instead.  We will consider this as a suggestion for the future.

Tech got a reaction from SamellaEt in bonzai3d 3 "Hot Fix" for OS X 10.10 Yosemite
We are working on support for OS X 10.10 “Yosemite” for bonzai3d 3. Until we are able to release a fully qualified patch, we are releasing a “hot fix” which will fix the major problem of a crash at startup on OS X 10.10 Yosemite. Please use this with caution and carefully follow the following steps to install the hot fix:

    • Be sure that you have bonzai3d 3.2.4. This fix will only work for bonzai3d 3.2.4. If you don't have it, you can download it here:  www.formz.com/update

     • Download libFZRT.dylib.zip. If necessary extract the zip file. You should now have a single file named “libFZRT.dylib”.
    • Locate your bonzai3d 3.2.4 Application folder and locate the file “libFZRT.dylib”.
    • Replace the file in your installation with the one that you downloaded.
    • Launch bonzai3d 3.2.4!

NOTE that there may still be issues running under Yosemite with bonzai3d. If you do encounter any issues, please send details to support@bonzai3d.com so we can address them as best as possible.

Moving parts of Smooth objects is not trivial, but hopefully this can be improved.  If you want the same functionality as your other program, just Convert to Facetted first.

Tech got a reaction from Ekbergzem in formZ 7 "Hot Fix" for OS X 10.10 Yosemite
formZ v8.0 fully supports OS X 10.10 “Yosemite” but if you are still using form•Z 7, we are releasing a “hot fix” which should generally make this compatible with OS X 10.10.  Please follow these steps (or upgrade to the current version):

    • Be sure that you have form•Z 7.3.4. This fix will only work for form•Z 7.3.4. If you don't have it, you can download it here:  www.formz.com/update
    • Download libFZRT.dylib.zip. If necessary extract the zip file. You should now have a single file named “libFZRT.dylib”.
    • Locate your formZ 7.3.4 Application folder and locate the file “libFZRT.dylib”.
    • Replace the file in your installation with the one that you downloaded.
    • Launch form•Z 7.3.4!

    Hi Rudy,

Did you check the SketchUp 3dWarehouse?  SketchUp is notorious for bad geometry, but there are lots of cars and people in the Warehouse that were made in other programs and work well.  Just remember to check whatever you Import with the Object Doctor to make sure the geometry is acceptable before using them in your scenes...

    Hi Markus,

Most often those objects are the result of a temporary object that was not cleaned up properly.  We will investigate if it is possible to provide more information on the bad object, and if so, we will see what we can do to display more information regarding it.  Thanks for your suggestion.

    Hi Anton,

The name of the image file has illegal characters that is likely causing problems for the system.  Don't use / or : in file names as they are used by the system to indicate sub-directories...

(I know you didn't create this, but the goofus whose file you downloaded did.  Sometimes you get less than what you pay for -- even if you got it for free...)

Tech got a reaction from ¢hris £und in How to Export my FZ file to FBX ?
    Hi R2,

Here are the currently available 3d file formats:

    And the 2d formats:

Therefore, if you need FBX, you will need to export a different format such as OBJ, Import that into another program, and export FBX from there.

We realize that FBX is a useful format, and we are investigating this for the future.
