Chain wire fence wire how to

I did this with a loose path to simulate the sort of distressed wire in your reference image, where it sort of droops a bit. Then I used a granite shader and fiddled with the colors to look like rust.
  2. Followup: I STILL have not received anything in the way of a followup from Chaos regarding my issue with the download link being stripped from their email.
  3. The activation email I got had the download link stripped out (presumably by our firewall). I contacted Chaos about this issue directly on 11/17/17. At this point, all I received was an auto generated message saying "Generally, you can expect to hear back from us within a couple of days".

    Workspace problems

"Always remember that all software programs are a work in progress." Yes to some degree that is true. However I can say without hesitation that during the 6 or so years I have used FZ, I have had more issues with it than all my other software combined.

    Component problems

I pretty much avoid them all together.

    Feature request: Select clones

I just did a test where I took an object and "copied" it 9 times and saved the file. Then I did the same thing but copied them as "clones". I was surprised to file the file size of both to be the exact same. I would have thought the "cloned" file would be smaller.

    Feature request: Select clones

Must I be the first one to say "Send in the clones"? *****For those of you old enough to remember Judy Collins.****
  8. The whole "decal mapping" thing is so antiquated. C4D has it right.

    FZ manual search

I am using OSX 10.12.6 and Firefox 55.0.2 and it works fine for me.

    I cannot Undo

    No, not always.

    I cannot Undo

I can confirm for a fact it has happened to me on reasonably simple shapes, and smaller files.

    I cannot Undo

I have the same issue from time to time. I have experimented with different levels of "undo" and I can't see that had any effect on it. Restarting the program fixes it. On another note, sometimes my right click "show controls" experiences the same sort of thing in that it stops working as well. Again, restarting it seems to always correct the problem.

    3D scanners and FZ

Anyone have any experience in this area? I am referring to direct experience with a particular brand/model?
  14. Hey it's working now! See attached I think it was something to do with our IT/Firewall. We have been having all sorts of weirdness for the past few days.

    3D scanners and FZ

Smarttec we are considering that one!
  16. Hutchy, It's still not working. I sent an email to Tech If you want to PM me your email I will send you the model.
  17. For some reason I can't attach the screenshot. Let me log out and try again.
  18. Hutchy, You might need some more geometry in that area. I did this in less than 5 minutes
  19. I believe the technique shown here would work as well. http://www.formz.com/support/tips/tip73.html

    Saddle chair

You got it Jaakko kac: Yes I use that method all the time, but at times it is indeed cumbersome. Another nice feature found in C4D is the ability to select points or faces and hide them. That way they can't accidentally be selected. It really comes in handy when working on a complicated mesh.

    3D scanners and FZ

Chris, This will be used to approximate product sizes for displays or packaging. We run into issues where remote offices (sometimes overseas) are working on design projects, and often there isn't time to ship a sample to them for sizing. Other times we are working from a prototype and only 1 is available. So we are looking at 3D scanners as a way to relay the sizing information in a more accurate way. We are talking about smaller consumer products. Everything from drills to cosmetics.

    Form Z to 3D PDF

Hi Clarissa, I was on the Adobe website a while back and someone had asked about converting files to "U3D" format. Someone suggested a free app "meshlab". It looks to be Windows only so it didn't help me. Here is the link if you care to investigate it. http://www.meshlab.net/

    Saddle chair

Nice work Pipo! You got the hang of it for sure. On the seat, what I would do is start with a rectangle. Inset the bottom face, and push it up to form the hollow. Then start manipulating the geometry with the standard techniques. This took me about 20 minutes or so just "eyeballing" it. It's not perfect but is on the right track.

    Saddle chair

Jaakko, If you can't get it let me know, and I will try to help you out with a few screenshots. The only thing that makes it a little difficult is the hollowed portion on the bottom of the seat. If that were solid it would be a bit easier.
