I used it with High Sierra some years ago, 3 or 4 maybe, but nothing intensive, only to transfer some old files to version 8.x.
I remember that I had to search for the USB dongle drivers on the Wibu System website and install the last version for Mac, but in the end, everything worked well.

I think you may find a problem after Mojave - as everything after it is 64bit only and I think the WIBU installer was only 32bit - I personally have dumped my dongle and v6.7.3 years ago. All I know is the latest formZ is v9.1 or v9.2 beta for Vray 5

Sometimes it’s just easier to move an object to the origin and Cartesian to work on. It is possible to work at weird angles using custom reference planes but great care is required when doing this. The “three point align” script was invaluable at aiding in building skewed objects by moving them to origin and then back into position. Would love to have it back working again or have it incorporated as a proper tool.  A righteous Development Team project?

    Looking.
Currently, all scripts are "Utility" scripts.  So, until I look further, my guess is it will not behave quite the same way.
I don't recall off the top of my head to see if click points can be tracked.  That will be the first thing to consider.
Pre-picking is currently NOT available since the API does not keep the list in order.   So, there is no way to know which object was picked first or last.

However, I will have to dig in to see if we can get at least some partial functionality.

    7.  Improved memory capacity for drawings with lots of imported images.  Addition of transparency for images.
    8.  Option to automatically import both a scaled vector Hidden Line drawing and an internally generated Full Shaded image, cropped and aligned with the Hidden Line in one step.  Ability to edit generated images in external image software and have the image update upon save, as is now possible in the Modeler with Texture Maps In Materials.
I'm including a simple sample sheet which shows how I typically set up drawings.  Here is a link to the V6 file:  https://we.tl/t-eNLZQwxCPQ

Option 3:  Draw a line snapping to points and extrude up (perpendicular to plane) to create a surface.  Use the Section Tool to first click on the object and then click on the surface (cutting plane).  Reshape.  Boole Union two pieces back together.

Option 4:  Use Vector line tool to draw a concurrent shape over the face you want to reshape.  Extrude up or down and Boole Difference this object from first.  Reshape depression/extension to desired position.

There are a lot of different ways of accomplishing the the same end results in FZ.  As you become more familiar with the program, you will find that if one tool is not giving you the desired result, there will almost always be multiple other options for achieving your goal.

Option 1:  Draw a line between the two points with Insert option turned off and snapping to points turned on.  Select Imprint Tool and click on line segment then on object.  Reshape.
Option 2:  Select Insert Segment Tool.  Draw line segment snapping to points.  Reshape.

Snapping / Stick to Edges is not required, but it does make working faster and more efficient.  It is located in the Snaps Palette under the Palettes Menu.  If you select this option and then save your preferences it will be remembered for future projects.
Snapping to Endpoint was added in V9 and has similar functionality to Snap to Point used in conjunction w/ Stick to Edges.

If Mac is dropped I would also drop FormZ.  The LAST thing FormZ should do is pander to an utterly inferior OS.  All the savings from a faster GPU would be wasted dealing with windows.  Especially once the new iMac and MacPro's running M chips are released!
I willing to bet FormZ's users are more Mac based than your 90/10 split.
I can't take seriously everyone whining about the look of the UI who runs Windows.

Once setup my v9 UI is working well on Mac.  I think it is a step in the right direction over v7 and v8.  There are things to improve upon (I have posted about them and contacted support), but for me it works well once set up and I'm working very fast in v9 now.  I really love the look and feel of the UI in general.
I have not used or seen other software, including many mentioned in this and other threads that make me think AutoDessys should be focused on a total UI rebuild.  Much more important things to do IMHO.  Plus from watching these and other similar threads in the forum there is no broad consensus on a UI look or features.  For example I see nothing in the Blender look that appeals to me over FormZ.  3DSMax has done quite well given it's apparent repulsive UI.   Cinema 4D looks well organized, but doesn't blow me away over FormZ.
If anything UI stability is the most pressing concern shared by everyone.  I will take that over tweaking of fonts and icons.
In general I wish updates were more frequent, even if more incremental.  However to say there has been very little improvement is incorrect.
What is the point of coming into the forum to simply trash a program you apparently don't even use, besides trolling.  Just use something else that works for you.

setz got a reaction from Jaakko in Creating facetted with number of poly
Simbio, this was a tricky transition for me as well.  Low poly count is very important in my workflow.  I made a template file with various predefined settings, and while they don't  solve for your specific request, they are useful in getting polycounts down.  The problem I was having was that on objects with both very large and very small radiuses the poly count would be inefficient; these presets keep counts low for these types of objects.
Attached is a copy of the file with the presets.  They are listed as ".05"  - ".00002" which represents the size of a poly in relation to the size of the object.  Each preset roughly doubles the resolution.  .05 is very coarse -  .00002 is quite fine.  Make sure that your Project Settings/Working Units allow for FZ to have "Number of Decimal Places" be at least 6 for the finer presets to function correctly.
You can easily add these to any file (including your Template File) by clicking on the folder button shown in the screen grab.
    Hope this helps.

First off I should say that while I have tried many times to use V8 for Drafting I repeatedly return to V6 to generate my construction documents.  I am very biased towards the older version.  I understand that I am a lot more familiar with it, so of course it would be a lot faster and easier for me to use.  Over the years I have made many attempts to switch and have found too many impediments to be able to be able to produce drawings in the way in which I want them to look.  While V8 has some great new features and more of an automated feeling, it all comes at an unacceptable expense in flexibility.
I think that the older version had a superior foundation.  It would be great to begin with that foundation and then to include the beneficial features from V8.   There are some serious issues and bugs in V6 Drafting which needed correcting.  My suggestions will include pointing out both the problems and the benefits unique to V6 and V8.  If anyone has ideas of how to combine the two versions where issues conflict, they would be very welcomed.  Please feel free to add to the list as I too will be doing so in the coming days/weeks.

    1.  V6 had a Draft / Draft Layout workflow format which was a lot more flexible than the Page / Frame format in V8.  While I appreciate the automatic updating of the Frames to reflect the state of the current model,  I was losing a lot of time in going back and forth between the 3D and the 2D world and having to wait long periods of time for all the many frames in my drawings to update.  I got into the practice of "freezing" the Hidden Line renders to break the file linking but this felt tedious and counterproductive in V8's workflow.  In addition, I miss having an "offscreen" area [Draft]  in which I could organize and hold variations etc. off to the side and which was hidden from view in the Frames [Draft Layout] on the final printed sheet, but which was still easily accessible and editable by switching to the Draft Mode.  That being said, having a pages palette added on top of the old system would be a great addition.
    2.  I like the way that frames were not limited to rectangular shapes in V6, but could be polygonal, like the shape of an "L" or "T" for example.  It enabled you to nest details around each other and gave you a lot more flexibility in organizing information on a page.  Round and oval Frames would be helpful options for detail insert bubbles.
    3.  V6 had bugs in Repositioning dimensions which often caused them to fly off the screen when adjusted.  V8 has no Reposition Tool which is dearly needed to quickly and efficiently edit either single dimensions or whole strings of dimensions which have been pre-selected.
    4.  I prefer the (Horizontal/Vertical and Dimension Parallel) Dimension Tools with a double click to signify the completion of a string of dimensions rather than using a separate tool to create Multi-Dimensions.
    5.  I miss being able to quickly select and move the associated/unassociated points of dimensions without having to show them first as in V8.   These were invisible until selected in V6 which worked well.
    6.  Reintroduce the Colors Palette and the Color Tool in Drafting.  Only being able to adjust Line / Hatch colors via Attributes is a limitation in comparison to V6.

I am running a 2010 12 core Mac tower with OS X 10.11 and a flashed 980Ti 6GB video card.  You can get one of these machines online w/32GB and 500GB SSD for about $1750.  I use lots of textures, most work is presented with Shaded Full and I render with Maxwell when required (2-8 Hrs per 4K image).  Very happy with the old hardware, I spend almost no time messing around and wasting time on updates shenanigans.  I use FZ more than 50 hrs a week and this old stuff still works great for me, fingers crossed that it will last awhile longer.  I do have FZ installed on a 2019 5K iMac as well, but the video FPS is slower and jerky on my poly and texture heavy models (±500MB files), something that is not apparent on my tower.
