Springetts
Billy Waring
London, United Kingdom
http://www.springetts.co.uk
"At Springetts we believe that effective packaging design can go further than a new graphic treatment of an existing pack or label. Beyond the graphics that are applied to a pack, we like to look at the packaging itself - its size, shape and feel. Because physical format can be a powerful communicator, contributing significantly to a brand?s impact and memorability with the customer. Using the state of the art 3D modeling program, form•Z, we can create virtual formats real enough to take to manufacurers - and consumer research. We specialise in developing brand identities that encompass the brand experience from naming and positioning to product presentation, graphic and structural packaging."- Album created by AutoDesSys

Sajous, Vincent
Maubeuge, France
"At work during the day, I use form•Z in the field of architecture. You can find some examples of this work on my web site. The evening is the time of the day when I can express myself by building all types of different objects or environments with the help of the easy to use form•Z. Here I show some of the projects I created to study and analyze the various features of form•Z. This work is intuitive and spontaneous and it often represents the state of my soul."- Album created by AutoDesSys

Troxtel Design
John Troxtel
Glendale, California
mailbox@troxteldesign.com
Troxtel Design uses form•Z to create set design and previsualize architectural elements for Hollywood.
"form•Z is not [just] a CAD package in my mind. It is a very specific tool for architectural or mechanical visualization. CAD packages don't have a fraction of the modeling capabilities found in form•Z. With form•Z we get results very quickly. ItÕs not too tough for new young people to get up and be productive in our fast paced results-oriented studio. My advice to other shops: keep form•Z in your toolbox. You'll need it."
Not only will Troxtel be lending his form•Z expertise to the big screen once again with work on another Sodderberg film, a sci-fi spectacular called, "Solaris," he will also soon be using form•Z to make film history. "We have just been awarded the contract to design The Motion Picture Hall of Fame-a new interactive museum complex here in LA. We'll use form•Z to model the interior and all of the exhibits."- Album created by AutoDesSys

Trans World Marketing

“I started at Trans World in 1985 as an industrial designer. Everything was drawn by hand at that time. In the early 90’s we started using various 3D rendering packages, ultimately committing to form•Z as a best value option for our creative department.
Trans World Marketing uses form•Z daily as a quick 3D representation of display concepts which can be e-mailed to the client for changes and approval. Our clients require renderings with heavily mapped surfaces which accurately represent their product in the retail environment.
The car represented here is a personal project which gave me a chance to use form•Z‘s c-curve tools.”- Album created by AutoDesSys

Thinking Outside the Square, Inc.

jradford@thinkoutsidethesquare.com
Thinking Outside the Square, Inc. is a 3D design/build firm focusing on retail spaces, interpretive and museum environments, and trade show exhibits.
“Since our projects are a blend of disciplines, architectural, interior and graphic design, we need a tool that is just as diverse. form•Z allows us to create anything imaginable in addition to giving the client an accurate picture of the end result before any commitment is made.
I have been working with form•Z for about 3 years, but was formally trained in Alias Wavefront, I’ve found that form•Z is much easier to use. Originally, I would build models in form•Z then post render in Adobe Photoshop, but as I’ve become more proficient I’ve realized almost all of my work can be completed within form•Z. Unlike traditional design firms, in many cases the design is not finalized before the model is started, since form•Z is such a fluid program most revisions can easily be made in a short amount of time. The ease of integration with other software and platforms is a great feature as well. It is an excellent complement to our work.”

Tesene, Dan
Dan Tesene grew up in rural Iowa, where, from a young age, he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty and intricacies of nature. Tesene completed his undergraduate degree at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where he became fascinated in the relationships between mechanical and natural systems, manifested through his 3D modeling work. After graduation, Tesene was awarded the Jerome Foundation Fellowship for the Arts and also won the 2005 form•Z Joint Study Award of Distinction for Fabrication. During his fellowship, Dan began analyzing the process of prototyping and the breakdown of forms, which led him to the work of Etienne-Jules Marey and other revolutionary inventors who laid the foundation for this type of thinking. After completing his fellowship, Tesene traveled to Cairo and Alexandria where he participated in the group show Convergence. Tesene now lives and works in New York City.- Album created by AutoDesSys

"As a freelancer with nearly 20 years experience dealing with all sorts of architects, interior designers, and landscape architects in New York City, I have come to rely on the versatility and great compatibility form•Z offers in translating all sorts of data sets encountered out there in the design world.
And once the design information is brought in, form•Z is the quickest yet also the most capable modeling package out there to create real solid-geometry models that play well with the demands of serious lighting and rendering tasks. Not to mention the constant "torture" of continual adjustments required by my clients as the visualization process informs the design process.
I'm very excited by the huge improvements I'm discovering every day as I get to know form•Z 7, and the partnership with Maxwell Render and forthcoming other major render engines, which will continue to enhance form•Z as the modeler of choice for creative designers and visualizers."- Album created by AutoDesSys

Sumner, David
Brooklyn, New York
http://www.davidsumnerdesign.com
“I am a stage designer, painter, and former scenic artist by trade. After studying stage design with the late Howard Bay at Brandeis, I left school and flip-flopped a bit between nightclub designer and charge scenic artist at Boston’s Huntington Theatre. In 1983, I left Boston for New York and created David Sumner Design. Today, some twenty years later, the DSD portfolio includes designs for three Olympic games, a respectable track record of Broadway and European musicals, a bit of dance and television work, a short stint teaching 3D at Rhode Island School of Design, and numerous exhibits and corporate shows for many of the Fortune 500 elite.
Through the years, my traditional painting and stage design training of airbrush, paintbrush and pencil proved to be a great foundation when working with form•Z and other 3D applications. I am a painter first. Most of my work these days involves designing, modeling and rendering large spaces composed of countless objects, not dissimilar from a treatment on a movie set. However, unlike the film world, stage work usually means rendering the entire world in one pass. Sure, much of the modeling is fairly straightforward, but the power of form•Z really shines when tackling those complicated forms such as realistic upholstered furniture, tensile buildings, and draped fabric. Every show is different and modeling challenges pop up all the time. Every day is a new day.- Album created by AutoDesSys

"When working with advertising agencies, as we do, its is always crucial to deliver images 'as soon as possible'. In our work we frequently have to model some truly strange things from scratch and produce several different renderings from them, before we can select the one image we need. As we use form•Z for this work, the program has proven not only 'professionally fast' but also 'reliable' as a true partner would be. Without sacrificing quality due to that we are required to work fast, form•Z never lets us down."- Album created by AutoDesSys

"I started using form•Z in the undergraduate architecture program I completed. I became fluent working at an architecture firm that uses form•Z. I use form•Z for every project in the preliminary stages before I start the working drawings. It is an excellent tool to visualize design ideas and structural conditions in three dimensions before construction. form•Z can also provide accurate and beautiful renderings. I usually model the entire project down to the trim around the windows in form•Z, then assign surface textures to the model, render it with a black background and a reflection of the view image, then take it into Photoshop and insert the background and landscape."- Album created by AutoDesSys
