M.art is a one-man bureau run by Martin van der Laan. “As a freelance illustrator it is more convenient to work more and more digitally. Through publications and a friend I got acquainted with form•Z. The logic of the interface and ease of use compared to other 3D-modelers appealed to me. Now I try to do as much as possible with the program. Most are architectural artist-impressions, but the real fun begins when trying to combine two hobbies; boats and drawing. Clearly my clients benefit from the joy I have making the illustrations especially when it comes to lightning the scene. Working with form•Z makes me feel like everything from a photographer to a timber-man.”
