3dworks
why does replacing components take so much time? if i replace a window as shown in the screenshot, with another similar one, it is taking about 30 seconds eachtime. my mac pro is one of the fastest models from 2010, the video card is a geforce 780 GTX with 3G of VRAM, the scratch volume is a large SSD, there is plenty of RAM, the scene is not very complex (3000 objects, about 200.000 polys)...? OSX mavericks here with nvidia web drivers. see screenshot
Tech
Hi Markus, Replacing Windows or Doors needs to re-cut the Boolean operation into the main object into which the window has been placed. If this object is complex, and especially if this is smooth, this can take a bit of time. If you ever have a case where you believe something is slower than it should be, please send a portion of the file that shows this, and describe exactly what you are doing (i.e., which component you are changing for what other one) and we will investigate the issue. Tech
Hi Markus, Yes, these Components are replacing slower than we would expect. Thanks for your report, we will see what we can do to improve this.
