8.01 Re-registration

Downloaded 8.01, installed it, registration information carried over, but when I click Register, I get a window pop up stating that an Internet connection is needed.  Same thing happened when I got 8.0, but there was a step involving pasting a code that needed taking to accomplish it - Register offline or something to that effect.  If memory serves, I had to go into the program and select something in there.

Now I get a message stating the trial has expired, and get only the option to Register formZ, or Purchase a license.  Selecting anything else, exits the program.

Can anyone help please?

Hi John,

Yes, formZ does need to connect to the internet directly in order to register "normally."

If you are getting an error that formZ requires an internet connection when trying to register, and you can connect to a web browser, then most likely formZ is being blocked by a firewall and thus being prevented from connecting.  (formZ requires access to port 3306 to validate your registration.)  If you quit your firewall, or make sure that this port is not being blocked, does this allow you to register properly?

It is also possible that certain Proxy Server settings may block formZ from connecting.  If you have a Proxy Server, or if you have been unable to adjust your firewall to unblock formZ from connecting, then hold down your ALT key (Win) or your Option key (Mac) when you click on Register.  This will bring up another window with instructions on how to register without letting formZ connect directly to the internet.

Now, if you have already received a "Step 4" Alternate Registration code, you can simply reuse this again on this same computer to re-register the same version of formZ (i.e., a 7.x code will work with any version of 7, and an 8.x code will work to register any version of formZ v8).

Does this help?
